Women In Step
Women In Step was initially formed in March 2006 as a fellowship/support group
for widows in our congregation. We feel that our entire church family supports
us so we welcome all women in the congregation to join us.
We asked ourselves what we could do to help our church. We believed that we
could be “helpers” by doing jobs that weren’t being done.
- We began by working in the church library, cleaning and organizing.
This continues to be one of our main projects. We also include the
adjoining conference area and offices.
- We help the United Methodist Women (UMW) with the task of
cleaning and organizing the kitchen.
- We help Sunday school teachers monitor supplies and keep them neat.
- We do other tasks as requested and participate fully in church activities.
- We volunteer to help with Soup Suppers during Lent. We help wrap
gifts for Santa Claus Girls.
- We meet socially once a month for lunch at one of the local restaurants.
We have a short meeting to discuss upcoming events and take time to check on others’ needs.
- We are disciples of Christ and Serve, Strengthen and Connect to spread God’s Word with insight and friendship.
